No More Need For Film Roll With Digital Cameras

By Annabel Stanhope

In the year 2001, digital cameras charged into the market as the latest invention in photography equipment. Consumers gladly accepted and loved this new invention which allowed all people to enter the field of basic photography. Picture taking has become extremely easy when this revolutionary device came out.

Before technology was as advanced as it is today, people had to settle for cameras that require rolls of film to take pictures. The problem with this method of photography is that it took too much time to do and the work was very tedious. In order to print out a picture, one must first get the negatives and develop them into clear photos that can be printed out. This procedure probably took a week or so to complete.

With a digital camera, picture taking is very simple. One just needs to take a picture which would automatically be stored inside the memory of the camera or inside a memory card. That makes it better for photographers because instead of having to deal with the negatives which could get spoiled or lost in an instant, they would have a soft copy of the picture that they could refer back to anytime that they want.

The pictures may also be deleted at the leisure of the user. If he does not like a picture he took, he can erase it anytime without having to worry about wasting money or equipment like with films. This also makes it more economical in the long run because that way, one does not need to keep on buying rolls of film all the time. He can just take some shots and keep only the ones that he likes.

The existing pictures can also be transferred to the computer so that the user will have more memory to take new images. His existing images may also be edited in any way that he may want He can enlarge it, turn it to black and white, add some text in it, or even add effects.

When the files are stored in the computer or desktop, the photographer may have the option to print it out so he can keep the photo in his album. All he needs is a working printer and some photo paper. He just has to select the picture that he would want to print out and click the print option. The picture will then come out in the photo paper and will look exactly like the photos that one would get from a regular camera.

Of course the biggest thing that separates the digital camera from film cameras is that the former may be used to take videos. So basically, it can be used both as a picture taking device and a video recorder. That way one may not have to buy both devices to suit his needs.

Ever since the emergence of digital cameras, many other inventions that were inspired by it came along shortly after. For example, the cell phones nowadays has the functions of these devices. It gives the customer the best picture taking experience that he will ever have.
