Fun Tips And Techniques For Great Pictures!

By Brett Finn Sanchez

Try different things with the setting that balances the white in photos. Indoor lighting can sometimes cause your pictures to look yellow and off colored. If you adjust your camera's white balance, you will have better results with indoor shots. You will see your photos come out much more professionally.

Before you begin to shoot, think about your main idea. Sit down, and write out a plan. Come up with ideas that can be useful for taking better pictures. Photography is just like art; it shows when attention to detail and a well-conceived plan are executed. If you approach it in this manner, you will be encouraged when you see better results.

Take pictures of small gestures during a wedding. For example, a close up of the brides flower arrangement or some make up sitting on the vanity. Sometimes you will get some fantastic shots that are unexpected.

Take care to compose your photos properly. Some people intuitively know how to compose shots well, while others need to learn the principles and apply them consciously. Although some subjects look good centered, learn to use the "rule of thirds" and place your subject in one third of the picture, while filling the other two-thirds with background, this principle works either vertically or horizontally.

Write down interesting spots to photograph. Occasionally you will be without your camera and you will run across a great, photogenic place. Just make a note to return there later when you have your camera. Keep note paper with you so you can record the locations which you want to come back to.

You need to make you consider how to hold the camera properly. Stable imagery is not even possible without the camera being held the right ways. Hold your arms close in to your sides and your non-dominant hand should be the one supporting the lens.

When traveling to a new place, try to get some ideas of the types of things you should be shooting. If you do not know where to start, take a look at some postcards. Postcards have a lot of different ideas of locations or subjects you can take photos of.
