Certain Beats Other Products - Best Waterproof Digital Camera Critique

By Aubrey Jenkins

An as yet unfounded fear is that buttons and seals do not look particularly waterproof. I have not taken it underwater though, and I have no plans to.

I was delighted at the picture quality. Water got in the camera and damaged it. I would suggest buying a different brand if you want to use it for underwater pictures.

He more than likely put the card in before he hooked the camera up to his computer. By the way, make sure you hook the camera up to your computer BEFORE you put your memory card in. When I saw this camera in the store, I was very impressed. The salesman took the camera and banged it against a metal post, showing that it would not dent or scratch, or even better, break. The only way to get it to work again, was to pull the battery out, put it back in and turn it on again. Took a ton pix at highest resolution, video, and editing on the camera, and it lasted all day. It's about the same size as my regular digital camera. The 'scene' settings never really help, and the only thing I've really found it useful for is just regular pictures with that drown-out look because the flash is so bright that you can't see anything in the background and the faces are almost so reflective it's hard to make out the features. I originally had my sights set on the Panasonic Lumix TS1 or TS2, and decided against it because I could not find any store that had one I could test first. The zoom really impressed me too, especially underwater (just make sure you set it to the underwater option- I found that makes a big difference). I also love how easy this camera is to use- my dad bought the new Canon underwater camera for our California trip, and he spent the better portion of every killer moment trying to adjust his settings or figure out which button to push. I have taken many pictures and have loaded them in my computer. I couldn't be happier with my new camera!

The 'manual' is stored in the camera, which was new to me, but it wasn't difficult to figure out. All in all, I like that better because it saves resources, as well as the added benefit of a 'tutorial' scenario where the user can practice different shooting modes and methods, etc.

Wouldn't you want to know all that it does" This camera does a lot. Their program you use on the computer is great too. So many awesome features! I hope it works as well under water. I bought this camera in November, owned it for a month and I dropped my purse with my camera in it and the camera broke.

I am surprised by some of the negative reviews of this camera. I have a suggestion to those reviewers: READ THE MANUAL!
