Pregnant Photography Tips: How to Capture Flattering Maternity Photos

By Roy Barker

Nobody can reject that the acclaim for pregnant photography has grown by leaps and bounds over the past couple of years. While most moms-to-be during the past would not also have considered having their pictures taken while they were pregnant, today's girls relish in the very idea of having the picture of their pregnant selves caught in film for them to value forever.

However , the proven fact that expectant ladies are quite a few sizes bigger than their standard self still remains. If they are not happy with it, is there a method to make their maternity photos a bit more flattering? Luckily , there is!

Tips for Capturing Flattering Maternity Photos

Shoot from above. To make a flattering effect, why not try shooting from above? This could really make your subject look slimmer since shooting from this angle creates a lengthening effect. Your pregnant customer will definitely love you for this!

Shoot from the sides. Instead of taking direct frontal shots of your client's pregnant belly, consider shooting from the sides. This will create a more flattering effect since it shows the nice curve of your subject's back.

Go for some abstract shots. You can create a more fascinating shot by experimenting with your depth of field. You can put some objects in the foreground and blur your subject's image in the background. By doing this, you can draw the viewers ' eyes away from your subject's pregnant belly without having an effect on the message you and your client need to share.

Put father into the picture. To make your pictures convey that there is more to the tale than merely your client's pregnant belly, you can add father into the picture. That will definitely add an emotional element to the shot!

Take it seriously. For your clients, these images are more than just pictures. These are joyful memories that they can expect to hang on to for several years to come. Therefore take your work seriously, make them as comfy as they can be during the shoot and give them more than they ever thought they'll get from the experience. They deserve that much from you.

Now the secrets to better pregnant photography are out, do you actually think you can begin to do it the correct way? With continuing practice, I'm sure you will!
