A professional children's photographers who wants to do a great work on your children's photographs will take a few minutes to get to know his subject. Let's face it - kids aren't all that difficult and he should be capable to capture the core of your little one instantly. If he is not equipped to interact with his object then you need to get a new professional to take photograph. Real professionals know that a child isn't going to react at their best if the stranger taking the shots absolutely ignores them.
With a little try and perhaps a lot more tolerance, your children's photographers will be able to create those photos that you can cherish forever. Certainly it depends on a couple of things such as the age of your child and their general personality. Photographing babies is possibly easier than taking photos of a toddler as well as older child.
